Mosque of Christ of the Light

The mosque, built in the year 999 AD, is one of the most important monuments of Spanish-Muslim and Mudejar architecture in Spain. This small gem is a valuable thousand-year-old building which represents a unique example of the artistic perseverance of Al-Andalus: a mosque or small oratory from Muslim times which, two centuries later, was transformed into a church. Later, an apse was added to it following the style of its predecessor, thus resulting in Mudejar art in perfect harmony and symbiosis.
